Thinking...
The idea behind my first experiment was centred around the beauty and symetry of explosions... this seems relatively simple to achieve - espescially useful is the fact that the building has a central spine (elevator shaft) to mirror from.
As for cutting the public spaces in my model... i'm going to start by moving the solid sketchup model over the top of the cactus model - and make it transparent. - i can then use this to find the exact location of the central shafts - once ive cut those - i will move my way down the elevator shaft. - not being fluent with solidworks yet - i dont know if i will be able to use a section tool like in sketchup to model inside - or if i just create planes through the building to cut from. I think i'm going to use planes...
